Comfortable in both love and grief, China Kent’s music is as nourishing and unexpected as family life can be. Having begun her professional career in 2005 as a co-writer for the score to Rian Johnson’s first film, BRICK, China’s life experience covers a lot of ground. Now a wife and mother, community organizer, activist and entrepreneur, she writes from a core of interior richness that spans topics most of us have experienced, yet never truly named, satisfying a need for healing and consolation, affirmation and confession. She is a 2-time Kerrville New Folk finalist and lives in Denver with her two teenage children and her hot pilot husband, Seth, with whom she leads the Americana band Alright Alright.
